Program History
The Florida State University London study abroad program began in the early 1970s with students studying in Earl’s Court before the program later relocated to South Kensington and expanded through the addition of local London faculty alongside professors from Tallahassee.
In 1992, FSU established a permanent home in Bloomsbury by purchasing and renovating historic townhouses on Great Russell Street for classrooms, offices, and student housing. The study center later expanded into neighboring buildings, and in 2007 the Theatre Academy London was established to support the growing interest in theatre studies. By 2009, FSU London also began partnering with other US universities as a study abroad provider.
